The Government of India has released the Monthly Accounts of the Union Government up to August 2026 for FY 2026-27, outlining receipts, transfers to states and expenditure during the period.
As of August 2026, the Union Government recorded total receipts of ₹13,67,709 crore, representing 37.5% of the corresponding Budget Estimates (BE) for FY 2026-27. The receipts comprised ₹8,37,921 crore in net tax revenue to the Centre, ₹4,54,549 crore in non-tax revenue and ₹75,239 crore in non-debt capital receipts.
During the same period, ₹5,90,391 crore was transferred to State Governments as their share of tax devolution. This was ₹60,243 crore lower than the corresponding period of the previous year.

The Union Government’s total expenditure stood at ₹20,77,958 crore, equivalent to 38.9% of the corresponding FY 2026-27 Budget Estimates. Of this, ₹15,68,009 crore was incurred under the revenue account, while ₹5,09,949 crore was spent under the capital account.
Within revenue expenditure, ₹5,14,810 crore related to interest payments, while expenditure on major subsidies stood at ₹1,87,037 crore. CASansaar
