NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule has urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to extend the due date for filing Tax Audit Reports for AY 2026-27, along with the related income tax return deadline in audit cases. In her representation, she highlighted practical difficulties faced by chartered accountants, tax consultants and taxpayers, including GST and TDS compliance pressure, technical issues on the income tax portal, recent festivals and the proposed nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30. She said additional time is needed to ensure tax audit work is completed accurately and thoroughly.
