All Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will operate normally on Sunday, September 27, 2026, to ensure continued access to banking services for customers.
The decision has been taken in view of the three-day nationwide bank strike proposed by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) from September 28 to 30, 2026, which follows the weekend holidays on September 26 and 27.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the continued functioning of bank branches, offices, ATM-linked branches and Currency Chests on September 27.
The measure is intended to minimise disruption to essential banking services during the proposed strike period. The Government and bank managements have also appealed to the concerned unions to defer the proposed strike. CASansaar
