The Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association has reportedly filed a writ petition before the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench, seeking an extension of the Tax Audit Report due date for AY 2026–27. The case status shows the matter listed for fresh admission on 25 September 2026. No stay or extension has been granted so far, and the existing deadline remains 30 September 2026.
The Rajasthan Tax Consultants Association has reportedly approached the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench, seeking an extension of the Tax Audit Report filing deadline for Assessment Year 2026–27.
According to the available case-status details, the writ petition has been filed against the Union of India and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). The matter is presently at the stage of “For Admission—Fresh (Without Stay)” and is listed for its first hearing on 25 September 2026.
Tax professionals and various associations have been requesting that the deadline for filing Tax Audit Reports in Forms 3CA/3CB and Form 3CD, along with applicable audit reports in Forms 10B and 10BB, be extended from 30 September 2026 to 31 October 2026.
The demand for an extension is based on the limited time available after the non-audit return-filing season, changes in tax-audit reporting requirements, reconciliation workload and technical difficulties reportedly experienced on the Income Tax e-filing portal.
However, taxpayers and professionals should note that the High Court has not yet granted any stay or directed an extension. Unless CBDT issues an official notification or the Court passes an appropriate order, the applicable Tax Audit Report deadline continues to remain 30 September 2026.
