The Income Tax Department has made the Excel Utility for ITR-6 available on the Income Tax e-Filing Portal for Assessment Year (AY) 2026-27. Taxpayers eligible to file ITR-6 can now download the utility to prepare and submit their income tax returns offline before uploading them to the e-Filing portal. The department has specified that the utility requires Microsoft Excel 2016 or later with macros enabled. The latest version of the utility is available for Windows (Version 1.2.2 – 57.1 MB) and Mac (Version 1.2.2 – 85.2 MB).
