Rescue and search operations continued in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area following the collapse of a boys’ paying guest accommodation that resulted in multiple fatalities.
According to the available information, at least seven people died in the incident. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi has identified five of the deceased as authorities continued recovery operations at the site.
Among those identified was Akshat Yadav, a native of Katni, Madhya Pradesh. Yadav was reportedly a second-year Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) student at PDGDAV College under the University of Delhi. His family received his mortal remains after the post-mortem examination was completed on Monday.
The incident has also highlighted the circumstances of young students who were pursuing higher education and professional career aspirations in Delhi. Some of the victims were reportedly preparing for professional examinations, including the Chartered Accountancy (CA) course.
Further identification and rescue efforts were underway as authorities continued operations at the collapsed PG premises. CASansaar
