The Central Government has issued a notification under Section 10A of the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007, prohibiting banks and system providers from directly or indirectly imposing charges on persons making or receiving payments through RuPay-powered debit cards and UPI transactions, where the transaction amount does not exceed ₹2,000.
